Storm Over Washington

Description
We were hiking around the Tidal Basin in early Spring admiring the blooming cherry blossoms when a noontime storm moved in over Washington, DC. The sun was still illuminating the Washington Monument, but before long the storm was bringing down rain along the entire Tidal Basin. We tried to reach the shelter of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial before the rain arrived but I'd spent too much time framing this scene. We were completely drenched before reaching shelter.
