Description
These posts laid into the ground make up the trail to get from the lower level to the next level. It also serves to funnel foot traffic to this one spot to prevent damage to the wider area. It was a bit of a workout getting up these steps. This was a great time to explore the Badlands. A local couple told us we had timed our visit to the Badlands just right. In another two weeks the place would be like a furnace. Ah, good fortune! Heavy Spring rains result in a luscious carpeting of green grasslands. This image was taken in The Badlands National Park, South Dakota.
