Description
Ashtabula County, in Ohio, have 17 public covered bridges. This is the most of any county in Ohio. This particular covered bridge is called the state road covered bridge.
This bridge was constructed in 1983. The original bridge in this location was built in 1831 by Ira Benton and David Niles. The total cost was $100 and it stood until 1898.
The bridge spans the Conneaut Creek in Monroe Township. The opening is 4 feet tall and spans the length of the bridge. It was constructed of 97,000 feet of southern pine and oak. It is considered a single span town truss design.
I took this photograph during a tour of the covered bridges in the fall of 2011. I have added several textures to give the photograph some depth, deeper color, and a painterly affect. This is my creative side. I hope you enjoy it for whatever product you choose it for
