Title
Sneezy Flower
Artist
Ken Powers
Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
My three year old daughter and I decided to name this painting "Sneezy Flower" because as Spring approaches, I can't stop sneezing! My allergies are going crazy and I sneezed the entire time I painted this one. I always have to laugh when my children pick names for my paintings. With this particular piece, I was going for a bit more of an abstract vibe. I left a lot of brush strokes, back-runs, and blooms in to give it a bit of a different feel than most of my other paintings in this series. I also wanted to create some subtle hints of foliage in the background to create some additional interest. The original painting is 13.75"x9.75" in size and is painted with Daniel Smith watercolor paints on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper.

Emily did a perfect job naming this.....guess she's pretty observant, but then it's hard to keep all those sneezes silent. This is so beautiful....the blooms and back runs give it texture....very nicely done.
