Skaftafellsjokull Glacier Tongue In Iceland At Sunset II
Skaftafellsjokull is a glacier tongue of the Vatnajokull glacier located in Southern Iceland. It is part of the Skaftafell National Park. Here you can see two glacier tongues of the largest glacier in Europe. Over the last decade, Skaftafellsjökull has been receding dramatically showing the effects of global warning. In this photo the sun is lighting the glacier giving it a warm tone in contradiction to the dramatic dark clouds above it.
In this photo you can see the sun light on a small part of the glacier while dramatic clouds are casting shadows to the rest of it. Such a beautiful sunset in the land of fire and ice!
