Perching of a short-eared owl (Asio flammeus).
Due to the asymmetrical arrangement of the owl's ears entrances, they can locate its prey without being able to see it in the darkness of the night. The rustling noises of the prey like a Norwegian Lemming (Lemmus lemmus) are perceived differently between the two ears and synchronized by turning the head, which aligns the owl's head with the prey.
