Close Up of a mast for a sailing ship...Taken at the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria...Sailing was a big part of Alexandria VA, its allowed merchants to bring goods in to the Port of Alexandria VA...it also allowed our merchants to export goods from Alexandria, VA to other parts of the East Coast of the United States.
