Title
Shadows On The Wall
Artist
William Brody
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Board
Description
I was sitting in Coleman's in downtown Holly, Mi. I was there with several of my paintings on display. For whatever reason I was not getting many visitors, so it gave me a chance to watch the sunset. I was not facing west so my view was just the reflection off the buildings, which can be grand in itself. Along with the reflected light came the long shadows. As an artist, I always look for the light and shadows and the story they tell. The story here is a street vendor selling the Kiwanis Club Goodfellow newspaper. Those who know me, know my feeling about street vendors. In this case there was a very nice article in the newspaper about me and my art so of course I gave them a pass. It's funny how things get connected. To the far left in this painting is the old Holly movie theater, where I had my first date with my wife almost 50 years ago.It was through art we got together and this scene continues the story. I call this painting "Shadows On The Wall".
