Sepia Bubbles Portrait
Mixed Media - Pastel On Tinted Paper/filters
My version of the famous Bubbles was inspired after Sir John Everett Millias and is in pastel on tinted paper, rather than oils, my version has deeper larger angelic eyes, with a more cherubic feel about it. The work was originally called; A Child's World, and was used as an advertisement for Pear's Soap by Lord Leverhulme and then was renamed Bubbles, the curly hair and blowing of the soap bubbles fitted it's new title along with the soap. This version of my work includes a slight sepia tone leaving traces of colour within those tones, looks very effective , the bubbles being an allegory for champagne rather than soap to use in a celebration as a greeting card or any other print its available in, it's also digitally enhanced in advertising poster style linear graining which gives wonderful impact and nostalgia used with the pastel sketch of the sepia shades, this turns out to be my most popular child portrait
