Traditional Courir de Mardi Gras mask that I made the way my grandma taught me. My grandma told me her mother taught her this art. Today I teach my own grandchildren this craft.The Courir de Mardi Gras is a country Mardi Gras. It involves brightly costumed riders who ride through small communities and towns collecting ingredients for a community gumbo. The favorite ingredient is live chickens which the participants must catch.
