Savannah River Folks Christmas Party - Silk Featherbrush Number 24
In one study for this art-piece, I forced certain details to look more precise. But that seemed to take something away from the essence of vibrant collective exuberance which "Savannah River Folks Christmas Party" is intended to communicate.
A lot of towns in the United States tend to go all out when it comes to decorating downtown areas for the winter holidays, especially Christmas. In recent years, Savannah, Georgia (USA), has excelled in this regard to encourage folks to spend the holidays down South rather than traveling North for the kind of scenery and creative decorations associated with holiday festivities. With a giant Christmas tree placed near the center of the main shopping street (Broughton), lamp posts from the east end of the street to the west decorated with shiny garlands, storefronts blazing colorful displays and lights, and businesses on River Street just a few blocks away adding to the amazing ambience, the strategy has proven appealing.
This is my 24th posted Silk-Featherbrush canvas. Other originals have been tagged for publication in INCANDESCENT WONDER. Please feel free to check out more in the series by visiting here: https://pixels.com/profiles/posteredchromatic-poetics.html?tab=artworkgalleries&artworkgalleryid=823615
