Description
Whaleback Light is located just offshore of Fort Foster and Wood Island life-saving station in Kittery, Maine, at the entrance to the Piscataqua River and Portsmouth Harbor. Wood Island life-saving station was just renovated in the past couple of years and you can see both the lighthouse and station from Fort Foster. Once you pay the entrance fee (check the website for$$) you are able to photograph both which are just a short distance from the fort. I shot them this day with my favorite 24-105mm telephoto lens. I was lucky to be there late in the afternoon and a sailboat just happened to be sailing by.
