Description
It still surprises me, those small things that jump out and whack us in the head with memories triggered and newly released. These flowers were in full bloom on one of the last days I got to spend with my dearly departed Dad.
I couldn't tell which he loved more-beautiful flowers, or the way mom loved beautiful flowers. Honestly, I believe he took more joy from seeing his bride of 56 years enjoying herself, and she really does love her plants.

Thank you very much Laurie! It feels like we're all repeating the same cycle lately, so many I know are in our age bracket and losing these connections with our loved ones, it's really helpful when we can connect and help each other feel and understand these experiences together. Alone, they would likely kill us I believe. Much love, my friend.

Oh Monte, this is so beautiful. It always warms my heart to hear of couples that love each other this long...so rare and so beautiful. Gorgeous capture and tribute to your parents.

Just read your reply to me. I want to add how fortunate your parents to have each other and how wonderful loving you and your sister are to your parent. I hope your mom continues to enjoy life and stay healthy. My dad will be 91 in March and still very sharp and healthy, to which I am very grateful.
Monte Arnold replied:
Thank you so much Alina! Mom is having quite the time now(she's 89 now), but we've got her back home from the hospital, so that's a start. I'm so happy for you and your dad, betting able to enjoy him is such a gift! We're getting her a bit healthier, which has been largely getting her off of her overly prescribed load of medications, which is really helping. We're really missing dad of course, so it's beautiful that you are enjoying yours so muchπππ₯°π₯°π₯°

Thank you so much Alinna, I was just visiting mom last week, she's 88 now. My sister and I talk almost daily about dad and try to remember our favourite things and remind each other... He definitely enjoyed how much mom enjoyed these the most though π thank you so much for taking the time to find this piece in my portfolio, I know that's quite a deep dive π€ π€

Thank you Carol - it sounds like the planet is also worse off for losing your husband...it's both sad and comforting that such loss is a link between us.

That is the wonder of such beauty, it is so momentary. And yet seems to stay in our memory forever. And why I love capturing this beauty in a photo or painting, somehow preserving it. My husband found the same kind of joy in seeing me happy, so I know what kind of love your dad and mom shared.
