Description
A HOMEPAGE FEATURE ON FINE ART AMERICA
Side-front view of a single hibiscus blossom in a tropical garden in Houston, Texas, rendered in true black-and-white high-key. This is the monochrome 8x10 version of my bold and colorful “Rise and Shine Hibiscus.” The "wow factor" in this version was inspired by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Hibiscus is in the mallow family, Malvaceae, sometimes called rose mallow. A large vivid flower often made into tea or worn in the hair, and the symbol of many nations, hibiscus bloom daily in spring and summer in tropical or subtropical areas around the world, such as Hawaii, Florida, and Texas in the USA. Please see my Flowers and Plants Gallery to enjoy all of my hibiscus images.
