Description
Late afternoon sunlight plays across winter fields near the village of Risby, Suffolk County, UK. The field on the left has been recently harvested, while the field on the right still has a way to go.
Over the horizon is Bury St. Edmonds which, in addition to its other significance to English history, enjoys a certain historical cachet regarding the Magna Carta. Bury also has a sugar mill, and if you look at roughly the center of the horizon, you will notice a small white puffy cloud, which is in fact, steam coming from that mill.
Risby is a village which has, as I recall, several houses, a village green, a pub and an antique emporium (among other things, to be sure). It was this emporium which drew us to the village that day and, noticing this field on the way in, I stopped and captured this image on the way out.
