Image from my photo book �the essence of The Green Island�, a photographic essay of the island where I was born, with black and white photographs of some of the locations I think are most representative of the beauty of Sao Miguel in the Azores.
Wanting to reveal just the essence of each scene, I chose to present all the photographs in the book in black and white.
A beautiful garden alongside the river/creek that gives the name to the city (Ribeira Grande), in the parish of Matriz in the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, Portugal. The 8 arch bridge in the background is a iconic landmark in the city.

Hi Eduardo. The composition on this could not be better. The imagery is striking. The black and white is a bold statement. I would bet variations you might try on this with color would be successful too. Well done.
