Redhead in Repose. Acrylic paint on a stretched canvas. The original painting is 24 x 30 inches. Acrylic paint on a 4 foot by 4 foot stretched canvas (square format). The original painting is available for sale.
This work transitioned from an original sketch/study, and is my interpretation of Georges Seurat's pointillist technique. The palate uses soft pastel colors to maintain a feeling of calm, soothing relaxation, however the red/auburn hair creates a strong sense of contrast. If you look closely, metallic gold and copper paint has been used to highlight the portrait.
