Description
While on a business trip recently to San Francisco, a co-woker and I had an early lunch in a small Italian restaurant on Nob Hill. As we sat in the front window of the restaurant, we looked across the street at a charming townhouse with an immense flowering climber vine that framed a porch and a red front door. On the plane flying home, I found myself thinking about the image and I sketched it. This painting is the result, although I chose to make the light as if it were early morning to add brightness to the plantings and the red door. Update: I have since done a 2nd version of this painting to try a couple of things differently - you can find that version on my gallery, also - please look at both and send me your comments!
