Red Coral Washes Up With The Tide
Photograph - Photography
I can across some red coral along Folly beach that had washed up with the tide. I wonder how far it travel before being left by the tide with shells, and sea grass.
"Precious coral, or red coral, is the common name given to a genus of marine corals, Corallium. The distinguishing characteristic of precious corals is their durable and intensely colored red or pink-orange skeleton, which is used for making jewelry."
As the ocean tide goes out it leaves an assortment of debris on the sand from, seashells, sea-life, and even trash from man.
