Description

I photograph this snowflake in late November 2016. This is very large crystal of stellar dendrite type, 6-7 millimeters from tip to tip - almost as large as big fernlike dendrites, and it have very nice symmetry for such size and complexity. I like light, which clearly shows 3D details on surface of the crystal, and it's transparency. The most interesting detail of this snowflake is center: it have strict hexagonal symmetry with equal angles between arms, though central area look similar to triangular crystals. Overall, this specimen is one of my personal favorites, so i spent lots of time to processing. Hope you like the result!

Snowflake was captured on glass with multi-color lighting from angle: this scheme creates smooth color gradient on background and colorful facets of the crystal, making it look glossy and transparent.
