This is real snowflake: elegant star plate with short, ornate arms, glossy relief surface and complex inner details.
This snow crystal was captured on glass surface with simple macro setup, containing camera Canon Powershot A650is and additional lens Helios 44, used as magnifier.
8 identical photos, taken as fast series, was averaged to boost signal-to-noise ratio of this image. Lighting: smooth color gradient created with multi-color LED transit light. Photo was taken February 2018 in Moscow, Russia.
