Rare Lady Slipper

Description
I am a steward of my family ancestral home and land. I take this responsibility very seriously. In the years since moving back to my ancestral home, I have preserved and taken care of our many wild flowers and plants. This is a rare Lady Slipper just beyond my home. These plants are very hardy and a welcome sight in a dense and dark forest. These flowers will grown into many if people would stop picking them or trying to transplant them. They don't transplant well and if you pick them, they will stop growing. This Lady Slipper is not along a path or anywhere that anyone would normally walk, so I am very hopeful that it will propagate in next year and possibly I will have a few more. If you want to learn about Lady Slippers, I recommend this website. https://newengland.com/today/living/gardening/are-lady-slippers-endangered/

Beautiful capture. These grow wild in a very small area of my yard in eastern Virginia. I believe my yard is the only one on my private road that has these wild Lady Slippers!

Stunning Liz, I just love the symmetry you have crafted in this photograph, so clear and the colors of spring all shine through in this warm exhibit of mother nature's gem. FAV+++/L

Stunning capture. They grow wild in my front yard under the pine trees. I believe we are the only yard on our private road that has them.
