Description
The Queponco Railroad Station in Newark, Maryland, is one of the Museums of Worcester County featured buildings. Queponco Station, or depot, stands today, silent and unused, a symbol of yesteryear when the railroad was an influential part of the daily life of people on the Eastern Shore.
There has been rail service on The Shore since 1872. Queponco Station was built in 1910 to serve passengers and freight as a point half way between Snow Hill and Berlin, MD, just west of Ocean City. Because of dwindling need for passenger rail service, it was taken out of use in the 1960s.
Where would you hang this colorful piece of local history in your home? Or might you give a print or canvas of the Queponco Railway Station as a gift to someone who lives or visits here? Order yours today.
