Description
These are the fruits of the Rose Grape (medinilla magnifica), otherwise known as the Chandiler Tree. The plant is from the Phillipines and was brought to Hawai'i as an ornamental garden plant. However, due to its continuos blooming and large fruit/seed output, it is rapidly spreading into natural forested areas in wetter climate zones on Oahu and the Big Island.
