Various pumpkins at a farmers’ market in Rock Hill, SC. Orange Jack o’ Lanterns fill the front row while Sweet Dumpling squashes are in the backdrop. Hay surrounds the vegetables in the patch. This image is perfect for the autumn season and Halloween. Pumpkins are ripe and plentiful in the fall. The tradition of carving Jack o’ Lanterns dates to the Celts. The light up demonic faces on squashes protected the household and scared away evil wandering spirits.
