Psychedelic Pasture. India ink with an acrylic base on a thin sheet of birch wood. I am doing a lot of color play in this very fun to create landscape. For example, the yellow sky on the left is actually the same color as the sky on the right, but placing an orange/red next to the yellow creates a much more vibrant, deeper color. The right side shows movement, from the third horse on the run to the very bright, highly contrasted colors of yellow/orange, and majority of red with a small amount of blue. While busy in texture, the colors on the left side create a calm, serene feeling, utilizing a majority of blues and yellow. Cast shadow and the scale of the horses gives some visual interest and depth to this painting.
