Description
Private Eye by Jeff Burton is a retro styled portrait taking us back to the days of film noir style photography. The private detective straight from the 1940's era, is lighting a cigarette and illuminating part of his face with the light from the lighter. The puff of smoke from the cigarette circles his head and glows from the backlighting.
Film noir is associated with a low-key black-and-white visual style used primarily to describe stylish crime dramas. Many of the prototypical stories and much of the attitude of classic noir derive from the hardboiled school of crime fiction that emerged in the United States during the Great Depression.
Jeff Burton is a Peoria, IL based Fine Art Photographer, who seeks to capture moments that instill a sense of calm and wonderment with the world around us. His monochrome photography style emphasizes the often-overlooked rich texture and tones of his subjects.
