Portland Head Light No.32
Photograph - Fine Art Photography
This is a fairly broad view of iconic circa 1791, Portland Head Light from what I always consider the front side as it is the angle of view that is most commonly photographed. This is looking in a northeasterly direction. Portland Head Light is reputed to be the most photographed lighthouse in the world. Indeed during the hundreds of times I have photographed it, I have met many other photographers from around the world there.
What is significant for me about this particular image is that it has been over 5 years since I last photographed it and in that time I have not been physically able to climb to this vantage point that I prefer. It was a challenge that I just had to take on when back in Maine visiting this year, 2015.
