Description
Pompeii-Inside the Bath House. Now an archeology site, the city of Pompeii was buried under meters of ash after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Touring the site you see the excavated ruins of streets and houses, and molds of humans captured at the moment of death. The tour guides are excellent at recreating the atmosphere of life in Pompeii. This was one of the unexpected highlights of our trip to Italy. We were there for two hours and did not see the entire excavated area.
