Description
The pletna boat is a wooden flat-bottom boat with a pointed bow and the stern widened with a step to enable passengers to enter. The boat is propelled with special technique where the oarsman is standing and rowing with two oars. The Pletna boat will take you on a tour of the alpine glacial Lake Bled to visit the baroque Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Maria on an Island in the lake. Lake Bled and the Pletna boats are a major tourist attraction of Slovenia.

A beautiful shot of these Pletna boats! Interesting description, and lovely that they are rowed, rather than having an engine. It must be a relaxing and beautiful ride!
Norman Gabitzsch replied:
Thank you, Judi. These boats go back hundreds of years. Since it is a glacial lake, no motors allowed.
