As a certified professional astrologer, I write a newsletter each month and I like to start with an image for the sign of the month. Though the zodiac follows the sun and not the Gregorian Calendar, I have to walk the line between these two things since we all live in this current calendar world. Thus for March, I have created this image for Pisces.

You will find on this image, the symbol for Pisces at the top left. In the lower left, I have combined the symbols for Jupiter and Neptune, the planets that rule Pisces. In the background is Jupiter the ancient ruler of Pisces and then you see the constellation itself embedded in an image of two fish.

I hope you enjoy it. The Sun travels through the constellation of Pisces from approximately February 19 through March 20

Why Fish? - The Myth

"Pisces" is the word fish in Latin. It is one of the oldest zodiac signs. An Egyptian coffin from 2300 BC has this constellation painted on the top. .

There are many myths based on the Pisces Constellation which is depicted as two fish connected by a ribbon. In both Greek and Roman myths, the fish represent Venus (Aphrodite) & Cupid (Eros.) As the story goes, Venus was walking with her son Cupid when she heard (likely from Pan) that the monster Typhon was on his way to kill all the gods. To avoid this monster, Venus quickly jumped with her son into the Euphrates River, transforming them both into fish.

Thus Pisces is a water sign with a mutable quality, and we know it to range from the heights of heaven to the depths of despair.
