On some winter nights when conditions are just right, a pink sunset will descend over snow-covered mountains right before dusk. You will see the sky turn a gorgeous pale pink, then gradually shades of purple, and then blue will take over and night-time arrives. On these special evenings, the magical beauty that unfolds before your eyes and arouses your senses is everywhere.
In this image, snowy Ymir peak overlooks the Canadian ski area, Whitewater. The area is located in the Kootenay Rockies region near the small community of Nelson, BC, The peak and nearby smaller peaks and cliffs in the range are an iconic, beloved sight to all fortunate to view it.
