Description
At an elevation of over 8,000 feet up in Donner Pass in the Sierra Nevadas, I came upon this pine in the snow silhouetted against the silver glow of an overcast sky. The composition spoke to me about fortitude, solitude, and loneliness so I captured the moment. Although shot in full color the photograph looks like a black and white photo.
