Description
Picketpost Mountain is located just outside the town of Superior, Arizona, in the southern desert region of Tonto National Forest. The summit rises 2000 feet from the desert floor.
We were traveling along Highway 60 when I noticed it and had to make the stop to capture the scene. It seemed so naturally regal. I loved the Saguaro Cactus climbing the foothills up to the base of the structure.
I understand that it is a favorite for rock climbing and hiking. Yet it is not recommended for the faint of heart.
