This is one of my local haunts so to speak. Pena Adobe is a Vacaville City Park that is on the edge of town, a few miles from where I live.
I hike this area on a regular basis but I rarely photograph it as perhaps it is too familiar to me and I don't always see the beauty that is in my own backyard.
On this morning I decided to take the dogs up to the radio towers at the top of the hill. It's a vigorous 1.5 mile hike to the top with a 627 foot gain in elevation. With the dogs this hike takes me about an hour.
The morning I captured this I decided to take my camera as the light had a strange look to it as I prepared the dogs.
I captured this image about 2/3 from the top. We had some recent rains so the dry brown grass was starting to give way to the newer green growth. Along with that the sun was cutting through the winter mist allowing the gold glow to show on the ridge lines.
So glad I decided to grab my camera.
