Description
This is a reproduction of Troy Caperton’s “Acropolis at Night” of 2019. This is a dramatic depiction of the famous sacred heart of Ancient Athens, the high city. It was the original extent of the city dating back to Neolithic Times. It was known originally as the Cecropia, or sacred precinct of the first king of Athens who was half serpent and half man. In the Classical Era the Acropolis was dedicated to sacred buildings and objects and was the spiritual heart of the city. The original painting measures 20 by 16 inches and is an oil on canvas stretched on wooden bars. It is in the possession of the artist.
