A study of wooden geometric shapes. For these images, I get to combine my two passions, woodworking and photography. I make the shapes in my woodshop, from different species of trees I felled. The rough milled lumber is cured, then sized, and finally hand planed to get a beautiful surface, using no sandpaper in the finishing process, this helps to wood to achieve a more lustrous look. The different shapes are created using various techniques in the shop. The chatoyance occurs naturally given the lighting and the fine textures and wide ring spacing of the wood.
