Description
Historic town and World Heritage Site, Ouro Preto emerged in the sixteenth century with the name of Villa Rica when Portuguese explorers and Tupi Indians called Bandeirantes, Sao Paulo, have begun the current state of Minas Gerais in search of gold, precious stones and Indian slaves.
After the Independence of Brazil, Vila Rica, now Ouro Preto, received the title of Imperial City, conferred by Dom Pedro I of Brazil, becoming the capital of the province of Minas Gerais and then the state of the same name. Currently receives tourists around the world due to its well preserved historical collection.

Hi Paulo...I like your image. Ouro Preto has some the steepest streets I have ever seen. This church is well photographed...Nice light...Cheers Bob fv

Absolutely outstanding capture with marvelous color tones. I love the fog in thebackground! Its soft appearance contrasts nicely with the detailof the architecture in the foreground. It is nice to see the bells still in their towers. It is nice to see the difference in the new building as opposed to the older church. V.
