Vertical color landscape photograph featuring a large western hemlock tree near the edge of Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park, on the north shore of the state of Washington, USA. The tall western hemlock is Washington's state tree, and is very important for both lumber and paper pulp.
Beneath the gentle blue sky are rolling peaks of the Cascade Range, covered with tall evergreens. An unidentifiable kayaker can be seen on the lake, enjoying the pristine beauty of the outdoor wilderness on a beautiful October day.
