Description
“On Eagles Wings II”
A chainsaw carving created by landscape artist Doug Kreuger—Completed in October of 2015,
This eagle carving is dedicated to my good friend, fellow FAA artist, Dave Farrow, along with his Vietnam Vet Buddies, in recognition of their service and sacrifices for this great country. America owes them a debt of gratitude that can never be fully paid.
I want to thank Dave for his early interest in my eagle carving project, his ongoing encouragement helped inspire its completion.
This carving measures approximately 60" from talons to wing tips, and 40" from end of tail feathers to front of beak. Carved atop a dead marshal ash tree trunk, the wings extend nearly 12 feet above the ground.

Hi Doug--I can appreciate the carving. I owned a Totem and had it to view in my back yard. I spent many hours touching it up each year etc. I see the size on this which is impressive! It would not hurt to take a few more photos of this! You spent a great deal of time with the carving and a single photo is not enough for me! FAV.

Doug the Koi carving you made from the cut away wood from under the wing is proudly displayed on the arbor leading to my ponds. The Koi also demonstrates the size of the wings on this majestic piece you have created...
Doug Kreuger replied:
Thanks Dave! I was happy to put some of the cutoff pieces to a good use… I also like knowing your koi carving was a part of this eagles wing. ((-:
