This is one of about 25 paintings I did in a 3-day period this week... in honor of my son: Joshua Douglas Walker Broomfield.
On Monday (Dec 9), my son would have been 25 years old... WOW! Even though I learned some fantastic coping skills over the past few years, this year, I was an emotional wreck... that is, until I started painting. Josh's spirit joined mine and we painted all day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; I went to bed around 5am every day thoroughly exhausted from painting... BUT it was so therapeutic. Today, I'm actually back to remembering my son with JOY... and not so much pain.

This painting was done using acrylic, ink, mica, and india ink on 140 lb. 10" x 20" watercolor paper.
