Description
This image was taken in Western Queensland near Horsetailer's Gorge in the vicinity of Gray's Rock and Aramac. This route was used extensively by horse drawn coaches during the 1800's. Horsetailer's Gorge was used to rest horses and Gray's Rock used as an overnight rest spot as may have been required by weary traveller's. The area is persistently hot and dry grassland. Temperatures can reach well over 40 degrees celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) for many days during summer.
