Description
I joined the 5-day challenge starting September 6, 2021 and the theme for this challenge was “Architecture”. Here is my Day 2 – A beautiful and old Bank building in Granbury, Texas. I thought the keyhole windows on the corner of the building were interesting. The other windows and the entrance have a slight gothic look to me but the building is actually after a certain style.
This old building which states ‘Bank’ at the top is now a Title company and houses other business offices as well. It was built in 1905 by a man named John Brown and the style is considered as Victorian Richardsonian Romanesque which is named after an architect by the name of Henry H. Richardson. It is said that Richardson was inspired by ancient Roman styles but added an eclectic flair to his designs. His buildings were mostly made of stone and masonry work that included unusual forms and shapes that seemed to be sculpted.
This building mimics that style of architecture.

Excellent capture Gaby! I love the stonework over the windows and on those columns at the entrance.
