Description
As I grow old, my skin turns grey,
I slowly rot away,
Yet I won't forget my life's bright day,
When my heart was young and fresh and light.
Though I'm wrinkled, hunched and bald,
I still remember when I was bold,
Though my steps are slow and my sight's not grand,
I still remember when I ran and ran.
Though my voice is shaky, my hands are weak,
I still remember when I could speak,
Though I've forgotten a thing or two,
I still remember the things I used to do.
Though my memories are fading away,
I still remember happy days,
The laughter of friends, the joy of love,
The moments of hope that I dreamed of.
Though I'm now confined to this bed,
I still remember my heart filled with dread,
When I had to say goodbye,
To the ones I cared for and held so dear.
Though my life is fading fast,
The memories of our past will last,
The love we shared, the moments so cherished,
Will never be forgotten or perished.
Though I'm growing old and weak,
The memories I cherish will always speak,
To remind me of the days so dear,
The precious moments that I held so near.
