I painted this New and Glorious Morn piece thinking of my wishes for a new and better year in 2021. One of healing, harmony, honesty, prosperity, love, and calmness. These feelings are promoted by certain colors and environments. A new morning sunrise over water, the promise of a new day, gentle waves, the sound of a waterfall, the waving blue and green foliage in a gentle breeze.
About these colors, quoted from Wordpress in 2011 regarding conifers: “It turns out that blue and green are rather healing in their nature. Green is said to support balance, harmony, love, and acceptance while blue increases a sense of calmness, love, peace, honesty, and devotion.”
I would suggest a little purple, yellow, and pink enhance the feelings of love and peace. So I chose these colors purposefully to paint this semi-abstract scene of a sunrise over the gentle waves, framed by the edge of a waterfall and the edge of blue and green foliage gently waving in the breeze. Enjoy!
