This bright ink handmade painting was inspired by a visit to Fort Fisher Historic area in North Carolina. The sun peeks through the stormy sky’s. The small dog and man's silhouette glow through the foreground. The pair have completely different ideas in the direction to travel. The pet will go to the jetty while the man chooses to read a historic marker. Only one will win. The background scene includes piles of dirt used to hide the fort dwellings beneath at this unique and preserved historic site. The Site played significant roles in the Civil War conflicts in the USA. The ocean waters are also visible beyond the rocks. The ink provides movement and textures independently from the artists brush strokes. Patty Donoghue chooses inks frequently to increase the markings and interest that this medium brings to the surface. Please enjoy this fun and relatable painting. This piece remains culturally diverse within a subject matter that many people relate with.
