One of two similar images in which hand-painted dainty and fanciful floral slippers adorn the walls of a powder room at the Ant Street Inn, a charming bed-and-breakfast in Brenham, Texas. The Ant Street Inn is located in a building constructed in the 1890s, now a Texas registered historic landmark.

This lovely boutique hotel features many pieces of unique antiques, symbols of status and fortune for the middle class in those times and, for today, a respite from the world. The Ant Street Inn was photographed on a visit in 2014, with permission of the staff. Please see several more images of this lovely wedding and special event hotel and venue in this gallery.

This image, facing left, has a companion piece with a slightly different background color, with a similar slipper facing the opposite direction and in slightly different colors.

"My Sweet Lady" is a song written and first recorded by John Denver, and was included on his "Poems, Prayers & Promises" LP in 1971. According to Wikipedia, John Denver released this beautiful song as a single in 1977. Record World said that "a lilting string arrangement complements his sincere vocal and gentle acoustic guitar work."
