Mushroom Rock Endures

Description
An impressive boulder named Mushroom Rock in Little River Canyon divides AL SR 176 traffic.
Photograph taken this autumn 2018. Met so many wonderful people who were pausing along the Canyon's scenic areas to enjoy a colorful tree leaf show. If you've never made the trip, it's one well worth taking!
Sadly, this boulder has endured graffiti, though an art in itself, one much better left to designated places and not on such an unusual natural beauty chiseled from massive floods thousands of years ago.
In September of 1980 State Route 176 was created along previous secondary State Roads 81 and 89 in DeKalb County - also part of State Road 89 in Cherokee County. A portion of the route took over State Route 275 forming the northern end of Little River Canyon Rim Parkway: a substandard scenic highway following the northern rim of the limestone canyon for 22 miles (35 km).
