Mt Fuji is an unmistakable symbol of Japan and getting to view Mt Fuji is a goal of most visitors to Tokyo. Short of making a trip to Mt Fuji, there are popular places around Tokyo for viewing. One of these places is the Tokyo SkyTree which is the tallest structure in Japan at 634 m. tall. With nothing to obstruct the view, Mt Fuji can be clearly seen. Mount Fuji lies about 100 kilometers (60 mi) south-west of Tokyo. Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone is snow-capped for about 5 months a year. Mount Fuji is one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains". It is also a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and one of Japan's Historic Sites. It was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site in 2013.
