Description
This Mallard duck couple paddles all around our little community lake and stay together where ever they go. Mallards are usually monogamous however the males do pursue other females at times. This couple seems to like this area of shoreline with a nearly bare tree that has gone into ‘winter’ mode. The white seed pods all over it are dropping into the water like popcorn for the ducks to snatch as soon as they fall. It is a quaint scene that gives a peaceful sense in the winter breezes of the lake.
